The Public Procurement Network (PPN) was launched on January 20th as a collaborative group of representatives from European Economic Area (EEA) member countries. This network serves as a platform for discussions on various aspects of public procurement, including legal, digital, data, sustainability, AI, and national policies. It is a space for sharing best practices, exploring new developments, and refining national and European policies.
In addition to this, a Community of Practice (CoP) was formed to promote the collection and sharing of guidelines and best practices among member countries. The momentum continued with an enriched second meeting on April 4th, where some members shared their views on several topics such as self-cleaning measures and national approaches to the implementation of the new sectorial exclusion grounds.
A series of ongoing activities are focused on the collection of public procurement supporting instruments developed by each country. These instruments include guidelines, templates, manuals, and supplementary instructions. An onsite meeting is scheduled for September 17th, where the results and their analysis will be presented. This meeting will be held back-to-back with the 6th Interdisciplinary Symposium on Public Procurement, set to take place in Lisbon.
Although this network is a voluntary assembly dedicated to sharing insights into public procurement challenges, its impact is anticipated to be significant. The knowledge exchanged here will empower practitioners in the field, assisting them in navigating and addressing various challenges.
