Description

In 2022, the Norwegian Agency for Public and Financial Management launched a call for tenders for the reuse and recycling of ICT equipment. It included several clauses to cover the provision of containers to securely collect discarded ICT equipment, sorting, data deletion, transportation to sorting facilities. The framework also included a profit-sharing model for equipment, where the contracting authority and the supplier share the profit according to a fixed distribution key. The framework contributed to circular goals, such as: reduced need for the production of new ICT equipment, reduced waste generation. It also improved the management and handling of obsolete ICT equipment, decreasing the replacement rate of equipment.
This session will discuss:
-A real-life example of a framework dedicated to reuse and recycling of ICT equipment
-Example of clauses to include in framework contracts
-How to include a profit-sharing model in framework contracts and reuse & recycling
-How to incentivize a culture of reuse and recycling within public authorities
