Description

The Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA) is part of the EU Green Deal Industrial Plan, aiming to scale up the manufacturing of clean technologies to support progress towards the EU climate and energy targets. The Act also intends to boost the competitiveness of EU industry while creating quality jobs.
Public procurement is included among the tools to be leveraged to contribute to these objectives, with contracting authorities expected to apply minimum mandatory requirements on environmental sustainability for contracts covering net-zero technologies as part of their subject matter.
