ASSORUP (the Italian association of public procurement professionals) launched a number of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the professionalisation of public buyers in Europe including:
- Production of a comparative report on professionalisation in public contract management in EU Member States
- Creation of a European network of public buyers/professionals to promote knowledge and exchange of good practices
- Organisation of an international conference in Italy (October 2026) to officially present the network and discuss the new EU directives
In this context, it has launched a comprehensive survey on the professionalisation of public procurement (PP) in Europe. The survey is targeted to buyers working for public administration operating in any sector and level, as well as staff working in regulatory affairs in public procurement.
The questionnaire is easy to fill in (multiple choice) and it will not take more than 15m to complete it. This structured, multi-section questionnaire is designed to collect comparable, high-quality information from PP professionals across Europe. The results will contribute to enhancing PP professionalisation, in line with European priorities.

ASSORUP invites institutions, associations, universities and operators in the sector to:
- Actively take part in the survey on professionalisation in the EU
- Share contributions and proposals for the construction of the network.
- Support the professionalism of public buyers in public procurement.
- Actively participate in the 2026 Conference.
