Under the SPIN4EIC project, public buyers can access free, tailored assistance to design and implement innovation-oriented procurement processes. Support is available in four modular formats (needs analysis, business-case development, market consultation, and tender drafting) with each module offering five full-time days of expert input (up to 20 days total). The assistance is coordinated by ICLEI Europe, with additional expertise from Deloitte, Corvers, and Intellera.

InnoMatch aims to connect public or private buyers with EIC-funded start-ups capable of delivering cutting-edge solutions. Its latest call (open until 4 February) invites buyers to propose unmet needs and, if matched with a suitable EIC Awardee, jointly apply to test an innovative solution. Selected projects will co-develop and pilot the solution over twelve months, with the EIC Awardee receiving up to 60,000€ in funding. A dedicated matchmaking service is available to help buyers identify the most suitable EIC Awardees for their needs.

Both initiatives offer administrations the chance to explore innovation with reduced risk and expert guidance. Interested public buyers can arrange an introductory call to learn more and assess their suitability for participation by contacting fiorella.tamburrelli@iclei.org or cristina.roca@iclei.org .
