The EU directives on public procurement are applicable to public contracts with values equal or greater than certain levels, called thresholds (expressed in EUR). Every two years, those thresholds need to be revised in accordance with the terms of the World Trade Organization Agreement on Government Procurement (GPA). The purpose of these adjustments is to correct any currency movements between the Euro and the Special Drawing Rights (SDRs).
The Regulations setting the public procurement thresholds for the years 2026-2027 for the Classical, Utilities and Concessions as well as the Communication on their corresponding values in non-euro currencies of EU Member States have been published in the Official Journal:
Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/2150 of 22 October 2025 amending Directive 2014/25/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council in respect of the thresholds for supply, service and works contracts, and design contests for the years 2026-2027.
