On June 26, 2025, from 13:00 to 14:00 (CEST), Procure Innovation EU will host the online workshop “Harnessing Public Innovation Procurement to Transform Governments.” Aimed at decision-makers from Contracting Authorities across the European Economic Area, the session will focus on how public procurement can be leveraged as a strategic tool to drive innovation in public services.

The workshop will feature contributions from two leading experts from the OECD:

• Bruno Monteiro, Policy Analyst at the OECD Observatory of Public Sector Innovation, who leads key international initiatives such as the Gov2Gov Innovation Incubator and the OECD Declaration on Public Sector Innovation.
• András Hlács, Policy Advisor at the OECD’s Infrastructure and Public Procurement Division, with more than 20 years of experience in public policy, strategic planning, and international collaboration.

Participants will gain insight into how to design procurement processes that foster innovation, reduce barriers for small and medium-sized enterprises, and apply practical tools to scale innovative solutions. The session will also present real-life examples from across Europe to illustrate successful strategies in action.
