"Implementation of a National PPI Strategy: The Perspective of the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities"

Procure Innovation EU is organizing the first edition of  the Training Programme for Level 2 specifically designed for decision-makers of Contracting Authorities in the European Economic Area looking to enhance their understanding and implementation of procurement strategies within the EU public procurement innovation ecosystem.

 This online workshop is scheduled for May 22nd, 2024, from 13:00 to 14:30 CET.

In this workshop, Procure Innovation EU will review:

• The current situation of the PPI strategies, plans, and main tools that the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities is using to foster the uptake of innovative solutions through public procurement. This first part of the workshop will be delivered by Teresa Riesgo, current Secretary General for Innovation of the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. 
• The evolution of the implementation of PPI through an innovation strategy, how the Spanish Ministry of Science gathered the political commitment necessary to support it, the best practices learned in the 15 years since its inception and how that political commitment is still key to support the current National Innovation Strategy. This second half will be delivered by Diego Moñux, Member of the Spanish Advisory Board on Science, Technology and Innovation, former Deputy Head, Cabinet of the Minister of Science and Innovation 2008 – 2011 and Co-Founder and Executive Partner at SILO.
