Description

We are glad to invite you to this session on " Green Public Procurement in ICT & the Joint Research Centre" organised in the context of the Community of Practice Sustainability in ICT within Big Buyers Working Together.
During this online session, we will invite experts from the Joint Research Centre (JRC) from the Unit for Circular economy and sustainable industry, who in the past 20 years have worked on developing voluntary, EU-wide Green Public Procurement (GPP) criteria for products and services.
We will share their work in supporting better policy making to promote sustainability within the ICT sector, such as developing Green Public Procurement (GPP) criteria for ICT products, such as monitors, printers, and data centres. All these instruments, which are publicly available, could be unique tools that can help public authorities purchasing more sustainable ICT, and provide a clearer picture of the EU’s policy strategy on public procurement and sustainable ICT.
