Collaborating for a Green Future: Join the Hackathon on Charging & Energy Infrastructure for the Green Transition
As Europe strives to meet its ambitious climate goals, the charging infrastructure is a fundamental component of this transition. However, it also remains a challenge that requires innovative and collaborative solutions. To address these challenges, BBWT (Big Buyers Working Together), in collaboration with the City of Oslo, is organising in-person hackathons on 13-14 May 2025 in Oslo, focused on Charging & Energy Infrastructure for the Green Transition in Transport & Construction.

To address these challenges, BBWT (Big Buyers Working Together), in collaboration with the City of Oslo, is organising an in-person hackathons on 13-14 May 2025 in Oslo, focused on Charging & Energy Infrastructure for the Green Transition in Transport & Construction.
The event will bring together public buyers from across Europe for two days of hands-on collaboration to tackle real-life procurement challenges in the field of charging infrastructure. The hackathons will have a unique focus: participants will work in teams to co-create solutions that will drive forward the transition to zero-emission vehicles and machinery in the transport and construction sectors.
A Call to Action
BBWT is looking forward to this exciting opportunity for public buyers across Europe to come together and solve one of the most pressing issues in the green transition. If you’re interested in participating, please reach out to big.buyers@eurocities.eu for more information.
Let’s collaborate and co-create a sustainable and energy-efficient future for Europe!
The Challenges at the Core of the Hackathon
The hackathon will centre around four key challenges, which reflect real obstacles faced by public buyers and local authorities in scaling up charging infrastructure across Europe:
- How can we share procurement experiences to reduce risks?
- How can we facilitate higher utilization and sharing of charging infrastructure?
- How can we incentivize energy-efficient solutions?
How can we support flexible solutions, such as mobile charging stations?
Let’s collaborate and co-create a sustainable and energy-efficient future for Europe!
