Description

Behind every single public good or service, there is a procurement professional who managed the purchasing process. To have good procurement processes and effective use of public money, public buyers need to have the necessary knowledge, competencies, and expertise to support green, social and procurement policies. And for this reason, public procurement needs to be professionalised.
🔍 In October 2017, the European Commission adopted a 'recommendation on the professionalisation of public procurement' encouraging EU countries to take steps to support the career development of contracting authorities. These recommendations highlighted the need for training and career management of public procurement practitioners, as well as providing tools to make the procurement process more efficient (e.g. e-procurement tools, guidelines, templates).
📣 We are thrilled to announce that the next European Commission Green Public Procurement (GPP) Helpdesk webinar will focus on the professionalisation of public procurement. It will delve into various training programmes, career development support, and tools available at both the EU and national levels.
