PPE Alumni Network

A network among former participants of the EU funded Public Procurement Excellence Programme (PPE).

About the PPE Alumni Network

This community is a dedicated group of experienced public procurement practitioners who have successfully completed the Public Procurement Excellence Programme (PPE) with certification. The members have extensive knowledge on the very diverse range of disciplines required in Public Procurement (e.g. law, economics, market analysis, technical know-how, innovation and sustainability) to create tendering strategies for best value of money. Ιn a period of intense change at many levels (economic, technological, political), the expertise of and the exchange between community members in various areas of public procurement is particularly valuable.

Objectives

  • To have a real impact by contributing to an efficient and transparent public administration while simultaneously reducing the burden on public budgets and fostering innovation, sustainability, and the inclusion of SMEs
  • To foster professionalisation and exchange ideas and valuable practical experiences / benchmarks / references etc. and to best establish collaborative capacity among members
  • To develop, support and coordinate purchases through collaborative cross-border activities
  • To act as a communication channel to discuss relevant policies, exchange ideas and participate in initiatives with other major stakeholders

Added value

By maintaining this network, ongoing and effective conveyance of newly acquired knowledge to the participants’ organisations as well as measurable impacts on the national procurement systems can be facilitated.

It will increase professionalization through cooperation between contracting authorities/entities and exchange of best practices as well as pitfalls, guidelines and training material

The community will not only ensure continuous exchange between centralized procurement organisations, but it will also be a relevant communication platform for the European Commission and other stakeholders in public procurement.
