PPE+ Europe in the SME Assembly 2024

Uwe Flach, representing the Austrian Public Procurement Agency BBG, presented the  EU-funded PPE+ Europe 2024-2028 training programme as part of a presentation to the SME Assembly - European Commission in Budapest, Hungary. The presentation was part of the session ‘Public Procurement: Innovative and SME friendly’ within the context of the Masterclass series on the topic of ‘Professionalisation measures to support SMEs in the area of public procurement’.

The session focused on how targeted measures and innovative approaches can make public procurement more inclusive and accessible, especially for SMEs, which play a central role in our economic future. It was moderated by Igor Kalinic together with Andreja Jaklic, Carlos García Delgado and Darjan Peric.

Alongside presenting PPE Europe, Uwe Flach highlighted several concrete ways to make public procurement more inclusive and accessible. He especially emphasised the need for sustainable professionalisation of public buyers, targeted support and the implementation of new strategies that specifically address the needs of SMEs.
