Description
Generative AI and cutting-edge technological solutions hold great potential for public-sector administrations as well as private organisation across Europe to improve societal challenges, produce innovation as well as provide better services to the citizens.
The rapid spread of such technologies brings an increasing need for regulation and for defining the terms, conditions, and potential risks that buyers need to consider when purchasing AI solutions. The recent Artificial Intelligence Regulatory framework of the European Union highlights the importance of introducing AI systems across the EU that are safe, traceable, non-discriminatory, and environmentally friendly.
For this reason, an increasing number of public authorities are in need of clear contractual terms for procuring AI. The EU model Contractual clauses for the procurement of AI define such contractual terms and can be used for experimentation by contracting authorities.
