The workshops as part of the 'Organisation of workshops in the 27 Member States to develop a dialogue on the use of strategic public procurement (green, social and innovation)' are continuously being implemented, with Denmark taking place as the 17th Dialogue.

The workshop in Denmark took place on 27 June 2024 in Copenhagen, Denmark, hosted by the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority and prepared in collaboration with the Project Team from PwC and ICLEI, and DG GROW.

This workshop took a unique format - the morning session was moderated by PwC and focused on defining strategic public procurement, identifying state of the art and open challenges and barriers in green, socially responsible and innovation public procurement. The afternoon session was led by the Danish Consumer and Competition Authority themselves, who encouraged the relevant stakeholders from Danish public authorities and business organisations to commence a very active dialogue on the procurement directives and exchange their views on the topic.

The participants represented various key organisations involved in Danish public procurement, including ministries, public agencies, non-profit organisations, financing funds, business organisations, regional and local associations, public authorities and more. They engaged in discussions not only on the procurement directives and potential needs and gaps, but also on potential solutions, and collectively shaping a roadmap to enhance strategic procurement in Denmark. The workshop featured productive exchanges and very active discussions supported by each presentation being followed up by remarks from relevant counterparts and reflections from the room.

Overall, the workshop in Denmark demonstrated the commitment of participating organisations to the topic and their readiness to contribute to subsequent steps and the development of the roadmap.
