Barcelona: Pilot test of municipal work with electrical machinery

ZEMCON

A new pilot test of our work with electric machinery here in Barcelona has been carried out, in this case working with a municipal promoter.

On October 30th, the works for the improvement of the gardens of the Three Chimneys, in the district of Sants-Montjuïc, in Barcelona, began. These works are promoted by BIMSA (municipal promoter), and have had an duration of 3 months. Thanks to the good will of all the agents, companies and people involved, this pilot test has been carried out with electrical machinery in its entirety, with the exception of an one-time specific activity.

These works are carried out in av. Parallel, next to the characteristic three chimneys of the old La Canadenca power station (famous thanks to the La Canadenca strike, which achieved the 8-hour working day in Spain), and of the Mata electrical substation, one of the most important in the country, as it serves the Palau de la Generalitat, Barcelona City Hall, Barcelona airport and Barcelona port and 86,000 customers. For these facts, it has a certain point of symbolism that the first work with 100% electrical machinery is carried out in this emblematic point of the city, both from a social point of view and from an electrical energy point of view.
