Using emission-free construction machinery offers numerous benefits across environmental, economic, health and regulatory dimensions, among else GHG emission reduction, no direct air pollution, lower ecological footprint, noise reduction, improved air quality, lower operating costs and compliance with emission regulations. Recognizing the importance of the database on emission-free construction equipment as a critical tool for transition towards more sustainable and climate-friendly construction practices, the BBWT’s CoP Zero Emission Construction Sites (ZECS) partnered with Bellona Europa in updating of the database developed in 2022, setting it as the first deliverable of the CoP.
The updated version of the database on emission-free construction equipment will be presented at the webinar organized by Bellona Europa, in partnership with the BBWT Project and the City of Oslo, set for Tuesday, 27th of May 2025, 14:00 – 15:30 CET. The webinar aims to inform relevant stakeholders, industry representatives as well as wider public about recent developments in the field of zero-emission construction sites. During the webinar, the team will introduce the updated database of zero-emission machinery, demonstrate how to navigate it, and highlight the main improvements compared to its previous version. Additionally, key recommendations for the deployment of zero-emission construction sites for European public purchasing authorities, drawing on insights from Oslo’s experience, will be presented.
