Bauhaus Earth researches and promotes the use of circular and bio-based materials in construction. In its work it has experienced that inefficient planning is the main driver of costs, and that involving suppliers early in the project can help reduce the price of construction.

A study visit to Barcelona and the neighbouring town of Sant Boi de Llobregat helped the Big Buyers Working Together (BBWT) New European Bauhaus Community of Practice (NEB CoP)  gain new insights on how NEB principles can be applied in practice in many different contexts.

To foster a more inclusive type of buildings and renovations, the city, in collaboration with the DESIRE project, has used New European Bauhaus (NEB) principles to involve the community and to prepare for the renovation of the residential building Ziepju 11. A Circular Economy Centre was also built.

Public buyers participating in the latest meeting of the Community of Practice (CoP) on New European Bauhaus (NEB), organised within the context of the Big Buyers Working Together (BBWT) project, were introduced to the New European Bauhaus Compass and the NEB Toolbox. 

On 24 April, the Big Buyers Working Together project held its first in-person annual event in Brussels. During the event the project kicked off its Community of Practice on New European Bauhaus (NEB), the first European initiative to connect sustainable public procurement to the NEB principles.
