Commission appoints stakeholder expert group to revise EU public procurement directives

The Commission has appointed 20 members of the Commission stakeholder expert group on public procurement, which will assist the Commission in its work on the evaluation and revision of the EU 2014 public procurement directives.

The purpose of the group is to assist the Commission in its work on the evaluation and revision of the EU 2014 public procurement directives in order to modernise and simplify the legislative framework, while ensuring resilience of the EU economy and its continuous greening. Members include individuals and organisations representing and/or having experience of work in SMEs organisations, industry and business associations, national, local and regional authorities, national authorities, central purchasing bodies, civil society organizations and NGOs, academia and trade unions. They have been selected from more than 220 applications through an assessment of their expertise on public procurement and representation (types of organisation, professional activity or background represented). The value of the expert group is the diversity of stakeholder representation covering various points of view and opinions.
