The Stakeholder Expert Group on Public Procurement (SEGPP) has been recently renewed to provide high quality insight and expertise to the Commission and assist it in its work on the evaluation and revision of the EU 2014 public procurement directives in order to modernise and simplify the legislative framework, while ensuring resilience of the EU economy and its continuous greening.
Members of the group include individuals with a deep knowledge and experience in public procurement, and representatives of SMEs organisations, industry and business associations, national, local and regional authorities, national authorities, central purchasing bodies, civil society organisations and NGOs, and trade unions.
The first meeting of the new Stakeholder Expert Group on Public Procurement (SEGPP), held in February, focused on how to simplify the EU public procurement rules. During the second meeting, held in April, the group continued discussions on simplification and initiated discussion on EU preference. Discussions of the group are organised in a participatory way to give its members space for brainstorming and development of innovative ideas.
